The short version

  • You can read this site without giving us anything.
  • We only collect what you type into our forms, and, if you are an invited partner, what you enter in the Family Legal Aid partner portal.
  • No ads, no analytics, no tracking pixels. The only cookie is a sign-in cookie for partner portal users.
  • We never sell your information.
  • Online donations go through Cheddar Up. We never see or store your card details.
  • We keep information about parents we help to a minimum, and we never put sensitive client details in email.

Indigo Unlimited is a Washington nonprofit corporation and 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 99-3699154). "We" and "us" means Indigo Unlimited. Also see our Terms of Use.

Details

1. Browsing the site

You don't need an account to read the site. We don't use analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts. Our web host, Cloudflare, receives basic technical information whenever a page loads, such as your IP address and browser type. This is needed to deliver and secure the site, and Cloudflare handles it under its own policies. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, a security check that helps stop spam.

2. Our public forms

Become a partner (Family Legal Aid). If you send it, we receive your organization name and type, contact name and title, email, phone, website, counties served, WSBA number, partnership interests, and message.

Request help (Family Legal Aid) and other contact forms. If you send one, we receive what you type into it.

Form submissions are emailed to our inbox ([email protected], a Google Workspace / Gmail inbox) through our email provider, Brevo. How we use it: to reply to you, review partnership or help requests, and keep our own records.

3. The Family Legal Aid partner portal

The partner portal (/portal/) is only for attorneys, LLLTs, mediators and legal aid organizations we have approved and invited, and for Indigo Unlimited administrators. Accounts are invite-only.

What we store about partners: name, email, organization, license type and WSBA number, practice areas, counties served, languages, rates and sliding-scale information, contact details, the invoices and messages you submit, and a record of your agreement to these policies (the date and time, the policy versions, your IP address and browser user-agent). We also keep a security log of sign-ins and changes.

Passwords are never stored in readable form. We store only a salted, one-way hash.

Cookies: when you sign in, we set one secure, HttpOnly sign-in cookie that expires after 12 hours or when you sign out. It is not used for tracking.

Information about parents we refer: we keep it to a minimum. The portal stores a referral code, the client's initials, county, the general type of matter, preferred language, and any approved fund amount. Partners and Indigo Unlimited must not enter case facts, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, health information, or other confidential client details into the portal or in email. Partners keep their own client files under their own professional duties.

Who can see it: a partner sees only their own profile, referrals, invoices and messages. Indigo Unlimited administrators can see everything in the portal so they can run the program. The portal is hosted on Cloudflare (Pages and D1 database) and maintained by our web developer, Dream Team Consulting, which may also use automated assistant tools to monitor partner messages on our behalf.

4. Donations

Online donations are processed by Cheddar Up. We never receive or store your card or bank details. Cheddar Up's own privacy policy and terms apply. Cheddar Up gives us donor details such as your name, email, and gift amount so we can thank you and keep records.

5. Other services

  • Google Fonts: our pages load fonts from Google, so Google receives your IP address and browser information.
  • Links to other sites go to sites with their own privacy policies.

6. Sharing

We don't sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the service providers named above so they can run the site, when a parent or partner asks us to, or when the law requires it.

7. How long we keep it

We keep form submissions as long as we need them for the purposes above. We keep partner portal records, invoices and agreement records for as long as you're a partner and then as long as we need them for nonprofit, tax, and audit records (generally seven years), unless the law requires otherwise.

8. Your choices

You can ask us to show, correct, or delete your information, or to close your partner account. Email [email protected]. Some records, such as paid invoices and agreement records, may need to be kept for legal or tax reasons. This site isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

9. Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, invite-only accounts, sign-in limits, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects your personal information, we'll notify you as required by Washington law (RCW 19.255).

10. Washington charity registration

Indigo Unlimited's registration under Washington's Charitable Solicitations Act (RCW 19.09) is in the process of being renewed.

11. Changes

If we change this policy, we'll post the update here with a new date and version. Partners will be asked to agree to material changes.
